The BA program in Journalism and Mass Communication offers a variety of program options that reflect the diversity of interests the students have in communication and related area. This program lies at the intersection of print media, electronic media, new media and a wide range of communication domains. In addition to the traditional way of building industry connect the department focus to create a strong bond between major media houses across the industry which will lead students to placements. The department meets industry needs by simulating industry environments and engaging guest speakers from various areas.
CMS adopts a plethora of methods and modes to impart quality education to its students. Keeping in mind the emerging educational practices and growing demand from education, our process of course pedagogy ranges from Classroom Learning to Training and Development, Case studies, LMS, Simulation Activities, Application-Oriented Learning, Management Exhibitions, and Industry Interface.

Program Objective
To demonstrate both theoretical and practical knowledge competency in theories and techniques of media and communication.
To demonstrate the ability to critically analyze information and dissemination of knowledge and information.
To equip students with the ability to create and critique media texts and processes.
To demonstrate knowledge and application of ethics and morals in media and communication in abidance with the Constitution of India.
To equip students with strong media research aptitude and demonstrate the ability to conduct and critique academic research.

Toastmasters: Toastmasters International is a global organization imparting training in effective communication and leadership skills. It helps and motivates students to gain proficiency in public speaking, productive communication, audience interaction, and oratorical skills. Students who have completed 5 levels each having its own set of speeches and challenges are then awarded the “Pathways Proficiency” qualification from the USA. Our students hold the distinction of being the youngest certified Toastmasters in India.

Student Council: CMS Student Council is the hub of all student activities on the campus. It comprises of the various fests teams (Management, Media, Cultural, and Sports) and clubs associated with them. There are council members who regulate and monitor the activities of the council. The council is also responsible for organizing the CMS Festival. The Student council instills leadership, teamwork, and confidence in students. The council is FOR the students, BY the students, and OF the students. Students join the council as members but leave the council as leaders. This is the very heart of CMS.
