Consequently, the English language has become widely spoken alongside the native language. Comprising numerous islands, the Philippines is home to major cities like Manila and Cebu. With a population of around 98 million, the country experiences a climate similar to that of India. MBBS in the Philippines has been a popular choice among Indian students who prefer not to learn an additional language, as required in MCI-recognized medical colleges or universities in European countries such as Georgia, Serbia, Russia, or China. This preference stems from the Philippines being an English-speaking nation, with over 95% of the population fluent in English. Additionally, the favorable climatic conditions in the Philippines, which are not as cold as those in European countries, have contributed to its popularity. Following the NMC regulations, the MBBS/MD program in the Philippines gained validity as it met the criteria of the FMGE Regulation 2021. There are numerous benefits to pursuing MBBS in the Philippines, some of which include: 1. No need to learn a new language, as English is the native language of the Philippines. This is convenient for communication purposes among local students. 2. The entire course of Medicine is taught in English, similar to the educational system in India. 3. Moderate patient inflow in hospitals provides ample learning opportunities, both in-house and outpatient settings, which, although not as high as in India and China, surpasses many European countries. 4. Availability of Indian food in medical colleges, which is popular among Indian students, adds to the comfort and familiarity of studying in the Philippines.
